Taking responsibility for people and the environment - the new GREEN HEART models by ALBATROS and PUMA Safety made from recycled materials

The ISM Green Heart concept is specifically aimed at meeting the demand of partners, end customers and retailers for sustainable safety footwear. We are launching a capsule collection of sustainable safety footwear made from recycled materials under the ALBATROS and PUMA Safety brands for autumn 2022 - for a better world.

Reduce – reuse – recycle. As a family business based in Lippstadt, Germany, ISM is dedicated to preserving and protecting resources and living conditions for future generations. Through extensive involvement in sustainability measures, ISM promotes positive change in everything we do. So developing sustainable safety shoes was the logical next step. The modern, contemporary and sporty Green Heart models comply with DIN standards and ISM’s own exacting principles to ensure uncompromising safety and long-lasting comfort.

The Safety Knit® Green outer material of the Green Heart models by ALBATROS and PUMA Safety is partly made from high-quality recycled polyester fibres. This preserves resources and reduces waste. Safety Knit® Green is a highly flexible and breathable upper material that is both lightweight and durable.

The colour combinations black/green and black/green/light blue look fresh and highlight the sustainable character of these models. The Green Heart label on the products is clear and unmistakeable at the POS. The innovative sales concept is rounded off by an especially sustainable shoe box.

These work shoes not only look fantastic, their technical features are also superior. Both Green Heart models meet the safety requirements of class S1P according to DIN EN ISO 20345. They are ESD-compatible making them suitable for use when working with sensitive components that can be damaged or destroyed by electrostatic discharge. A lightweight fibreglass toe cap protects against falling objects with an energy of up to 200 joules.

The latest generation of FAP® GREEN puncture-resistant soles made of recycled, non-metallic and extremely tear-resistant textile fibres are exceptionally comfortable and safe.

The puncture-resistant soles are outstandingly flexible to provide the wearer with unlimited protection without compromising on comfort.

Cold-insulating properties and high moisture absorption combine to produce a climate-regulating effect and improve moisture transport in the shoe.

Both Green Heart models are ideal for dry work areas in trade, industry, logistics and manufacturing. During long working days of eight hours or more, it is essential to wear safety shoes that are easy on the feet, joints and back. A perfect fit, correct sizing and a lack of pressure points are all essential for a shoe to be truly comfortable. The Green Heart line of safety shoes features anatomically shaped insoles developed by orthopaedic shoemakers for individual adaptation to the wearer's feet. The insoles can be replaced without impairing the safety properties of the shoes. The Evercushion® Green insole is made of recycled foam and tear-resistant polyester fibres and is especially environmentally friendly. It is breathable and shock-absorbing and supports the natural rolling motion of the foot.

The XTS Cross Terrain sole of the ALBATROS Splendid Green GH Low is easy to clean and guarantees perfect contact with the ground. It is slip-resistant, abrasion-resistant and heat-resistant up to 300°C (HRO). The specially designed sole profile and wide flex grooves ensure optimum flexibility and excellent water displacement for a firm grip on all kinds of surfaces.

At the core of this intelligent dual.IMPULSE® sole technology is a double-foamed midsole made of IMPULSE.FOAM® that returns energy with every step. IMPULSE.FOAM® not only actively returns up to 55% of the energy used to the wearer, but also provides unsurpassed shock-absorption, excellent stability and long-lasting comfort for fatigue-free work and continual top performance.

The HRO rubber sole of the PUMA Safety Vivid GH Low is heat-resistant up to 300°C. Its differently shaped tread elements ensure optimum mobility and safe contact with the ground (SRC). Countless small air bubbles in the ultra-light EVA midsole provide excellent cushioning and facilitate the foot’s rolling motion. The idCELL element integrated into the heel area is made of ultra-light EVA foam that perfectly absorbs impacts and shocks when setting down the heel. A particular highlight of the sole is the pivot point integrated in the midfoot area. This point is subjected to the highest levels of strain and load when moving around at work every day. The reinforcement essentially minimises friction and reduces fatigue.

The ALBATROS Splendid Green GH Low was awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2022. The PUMA Safety Vivid GH Low won the German Innovation Award 2022. These awards are testaments to the well-designed look and innovative functionalities of our Green Heart safety shoes.

Both models will be available from specialist retailers and selected online shops from autumn 2022.
